Design Inspiration for Hand Stamped Jewelry

I recently created a photo stream of some of the (very) many photos we have taken of our mommy jewelry over the years.  I’ll be adding lots more photos as I have the chance, but for now I thought I would share the slideshow!  It’s fun to just click through these and see how others have customized their h and stamped jewelry, how they have added charms or beads or what personalization they have chosen.  When you see all the options you realize the possibilities are endless.  I know that can be a little overwhelming for some, but it’s still just good fun and good inspiration to check it out!  Enjoy.

Custom Handwriting Charms

Your children’s hand writing is completely unique to them, and very personal to you.

I remember the first day I wore my ‘test necklace’ with my kid’s names on each charm in their own hand writing — I never got so many questions and comments on any other piece of jewelry!

This is truly is something lots of moms can relate to — it’s like having a piece of your child’s personality with you at all times.

I have since evolved the technique into a process that I can use with most signatures.

The results are really amazing and I know the kids get a thrill seeing their signature in silver for the world to see!

Some kids choose to write a short message like “I love mom” and that works also, and ends up being something really special.  A wonderful gift for mom!

These are really fun to work on and I look forward to seeing what all the creative kids out there come up with!

Custom Hand or Foot Print Charms

These next set of photos are our new Custom Handprint and Footprint Charms!  I was amazed to discover that I can use scans of h and or foot prints from hospital prints or just from homemade prints on white paper.  It is so gratifying to see these when they are done and to see how the detail of the prints gets transferred to the charms.  Shown here are our fine silver charms with h and stamped names curved under the feet.

I’ve done a few of these for people who have multiple children.  I have also done these from hospital prints for parents who have lost their babies.  Those are a little hard to make, simply because I know the parents have so little to remember their children by.  But it feels good to know I am helping to solidify that little token onto something permanent for them.  So I always say a little blessing while working on those.

Hand Stamped Names and Custom Feet Prints

These pedants are a little bit of work.  🙂  It’s all good – don’t me wrong!  But there are a lot of steps that you have to follow closely to get the best end result.  My favorite part is h and polishing these – that is when I get to see the final result and see all the work come to fruition.

Custom Artwork Charms

I’m so excited to be able to unveil our new line of custom-made charms – seen here are our Artwork Charms, where we take a scan of your favorite piece of your child’s artwork and turn it into a sterling silver or fine silver charm.  There will be more information and photos to come, as we introduce this new line!

This is actually something I have been working on for a few years, so it wasn’t a light bulb idea one day and a jewelry line the next.   One of the reasons it took so long for me to come up with a good, repeatable process to get the artwork onto charms, is because I had many setbacks.  I had a vision in my head of how I wanted the final product to look, and it took a lot of trial and error and trying different techniques to get there.   The moment I finally had a charm that looked great, I did a little hoopty dance and instead of celebrating, just wanted to make more of them!  Stay tuned for more information on this jewelry line!
