Our necklace of the month this month features a h and -made fine silver heart charm, h and stamped with the letters XOXO, hanging with a Swarovski pearl on a sterling silver chain. I love this necklace!
We love making hearts of all shapes and sizes. When we came up with this shape in the studio, we all loved it and couldn’t wait to stamp it. The fine silver is so easy to work with and to stamp. We add a brushed finish to it, to give it a matte look and the little pearl just compliments this so nicely.
This necklace is on sale too, for the rest of this month! Enjoy!
I just created this very cute h and stamped teacher gift using the same words I came up with years ago for another necklace we carry. I love the sweet message “Teach, Inspire, Love” because it captures what teachers are and do, but it’s not just another apple necklace (which can be cute too, don’t get me wrong!).
For this particular charm that we h and -made in our studio, we thought we would try something new by creating and offering it in fine pewter. Fine pewter is a lead-free version of traditional pewter, so it is safe to use for jewelry. It also has the look and feel of fine silver but it is less expensive than sterling or fine silver.
What do you think of this charm in pewter?
I personally love working the pewter, it is super soft (but not too soft!) and forgiving. It looks really nice too, and keeps the h and -made feel of the fine silver.
We are unveiling our necklace for May a bit late this month because of Mother’s Day, but here it is! The birthstone for May is emerald, and I love how Swarovski captures such rich colors in their stones. These stones are tiny and we use them as accents on lots of pieces, but we also love stone clusters so we decided to make the clusters of all the birthstones.
The rectangle is our new h and -molded/h and -made Sculpted Rectangle charm. These have been popular with customers and look great with different fonts. I chose our lower case Kissme font here and chose the word ‘believe’. I love inspirational words stamped onto metal with an accent of color, especially when the word can mean different things to different people.
You need to believe in yourself, believe in your dreams, believe in other people, believe in hope and believe you are here for a reason. The word is powerful and can be a nice reminder to have with you at all times. Never stop believing! Oh and this is on super sale for the next two days!
We’ve been prepping our storefront for a while now, and it’s pretty much ready to start selling our h and stamped jewelry and other personalized treasures. Well, it will never be ready, still so much to do! But at some point we have to just go for it. Customers have been coming in and giving us great feedback so far. It’s helpful to hear what people think and how happy they are that we are here!
I think I mentioned this before but I’m so excited about the cabinets I found on Craig’s List. It’s as if they were made for our shop. They fit in our space perfectly. They are vintage jewelry displays, once owned by a jeweler who retired and decided to let go of them. I hope he’s enjoying his retirement while I’m enjoying the cabinets! They even have working lights, such a bonus.
I will be doing another blog post on my h and stamped jewelry displays. I’ve had a fantastic time scouring the DIY blogs and Pins to find ideas on how to display everything. I love DIY and re-purposing anyway, so I have had a great time painting, nailing, hanging, hot gluing to my heart’s content. Have glue gun will travel!
We have the shop divided into themes – h and stamped jewelry and personalized jewelry, h and writing jewelry and a build-your-own necklace station. We call the build your own station “Mary’s Corner” after my friend Mary who often comes in to design her own necklaces she gives as gifts. It’s fun to see what people come up with!
If you have any ideas for us or know of good jewelry display ideas, please let me know! We’d love your feedback. Come visit us soon!
